Questions… & Answers!

How can I can become a Starlight performer?

Belly Dancers who attend Melina’s September Choreography Session can register for the Performer Track.

Aerial students can sign up for the Starlight Session on the registration page. Students will be able to select their apparatus and co-create their starlight act with MSC.

Space permitting students may be able to join Starlight through private session creation. Please reach out with interest and availability. (3 dates between August - end of September)

Show Day:

Exact show day timing is to be confirmed, but please expect to wake up early and arrive early on the show day. Our show begins at 11:30am and we will arrive with enough time to organize our backstage area, complete final rigging checks, and do a show walk through.

Is there a dress rehearsal?

Yes! Dress rehearsal for the Deerfield Fair performance will be on Saturday, October 3rd at 11:00am in the studio (not the fairgrounds!).

There will be a talk-through, walk-through, and run-through of the show in costume & makeup. Photos will be taken.

What is "Circus Starlight"

Look up, the stars are waiting! Everyone’s journey under the stars, intertwined yet unique…

Arc of show will follow the concepts of “arrival - curiosity - discovery - presence - reflection - farewell - memory”

There will be a main character following “Circus Starlight” throughout the show.

Acts will be connected with ensemble moments and recurring motifs, culminating in a sense that each piece belongs to the same story.

What if it rains?

If it rains (which it won't …), we will still gather at the fairgrounds in the event the rain lets up.

For our 2025 recital at the Deerfield Fair we were rained out," but we still danced with joy and performed aerial pieces as safely as we could for the audience members who stayed to watch under their umbrellas.

Based on the forecast for that weekend we may open audience seats for the dress rehearsal, TBD!
