Belly Dance On-Demand: Garnet Jewels of Janus January 2021 - 4 Class Pack

This Archive Class Package includes 4 Recorded Classes.
The newborn 2021 is here. She invites a tender touch as she reveals her true nature to us. January is loaded with associations and symbolism, but I try to keep classes - and hearts - light. January is named for Janus, and the birthstone for January is Garnet, often associated with the pomegranate, a seed fruit laden with mythological meaning. Janus was the Roman god of new beginnings, gates, transitions, portals, time, duality, doorways..Janus looks simultaneously forwards and backwards, and is often depicted with a key. The pomegranate - fruit of Persephone that kept her tethered to - and traveling between - two worlds. We all regularly pass through portals of multiple worlds, internal and external, sacred and profane, public and private, digital and analog, shadow and light - and we naturally look forward and backwards to see what wisdom and energies we want to live with. Happy birthday month to all Capricorns and Aquariuses!
What door this month’s key opens, we are not quite sure. Let’s not rush into naming it. All doorways look a little different to us these days, and we are so careful which we pass through. As cross the new year portal, we’ll explore belly dance movements & concepts that will tap into our deep well of all that is good and nourishing for the soul to help keep us keeping on. My zoom classes will continue the oracular trend of dancing with imagination, mysticism, curiosity, astrology, technique, choreographies, fierceness, rawness, storytelling, creativity, community, self-connection, flow, solace and shimmies.
Let’s collectively imagine the doorways we want to pass through this year. We will let go of the energies that no longer serve us, and remember the dear ones who made our hearts full that we carry forward in spirit. Every choice is a doorway, every icon to every app, every thought…where do you want to go? And how do you want to dance your body as you move through your moments?
