Rhea’s Story. Part 27.

Letter from Mom to to 5 year old Zoë, part 2. Anticipating the next trip to Athens…

« …I’m sorry that you guys can’t stay longer, but I’ll try to think of as many interesting things as I can to do and places to go: I know it won’t be as much fun for you as there will be boring grown- ups and no kids. But, as I said, I’ll try to do the best I can.

One idea is to come to Kritikos at night where I dance and race around like a wild thing up and down the stairs of the Acropolis. I could show you the main way and you could take others on guided tours. I will show you the cat way where there are many stray cats and you could take tidbits to them. Well, it’s an idea anyway but it’s close and available and not dangerous. See what you think.

-Dancing Ami - xoxo YOUR BEST ENEMY! »

—————————

Backstory- I made sure to take Zoë to where I grew up in Plaka every year, (twice a year before she was two and cost more to fly). I wanted her to know the vibes of the ancient city, to feel the stones and dust of the Parthenon, dance to bouzouki music & soak up the energy of where and how I grew up - and of course to know her unusual “Dancing Ami” through direct experience. They are two fire signs who share daring, independent spirits & are both great at art projects. Even while they sometimes clashed when one strong will met the other in a difference of opinion - hence mom’s sign off as « your best enemy! » 🤣 they share a mutual respect of one another’s choices, boldness and artistry.

First slide is from a dance happening in Cambridge - second is Philapappou Hill - third video clip is at Stamatopoulos taverna where you can hear mom’s voice encouraging her granddaughter’s wild dancing.
