Rhea’s Story. Part 21.

“You’ve got to really have a love of (dance) and be a sort of old hippie and not care if you get rich at it. You have to be the sort of person to do something because you’re dedicated to it or devoted to and because it gives you a lot of pleasure and joy, and you think about it a lot. Even if you don’t try it takes you over. I’m not thinking oh no what ís my next move, I don’t think like that. If I ever get bored, I’m out, but I never found anything else that I liked better. I used to be an Art major, I could probably/maybe paint, I don’t know - I used to. But to me that is something I could do when I become old and sedentary. So if I’m forced into it that is what I’ll probably do, but to me dancing is something that I’ve always loved to do.”

From an interview with Amy Smith / Alizah Afet, first printed in Belly Dance New England in 2003.

Love of dance transmits! It’s a great energy field to be in.

Photo from when we taught seminars and performed in Singapore’s Victoria Theatre - concert produced by Susanna Lawrence of Goddess Motion 🙏🏼 a gift to see & meet the world through dance!
